The New Year is upon us!
2020 is only a few days away, which is crazy! This New Year symbolises the end of a decade. It seems like this year (or ten) has flashed before our eyes. It’s been another incredible year for us here at Nurcha. We’ve loved sharing our passion & purpose with you and growing every single day. We would like to thank you for all your support over the years & we’re so excited to see what amazing things 2020 will bring us!
A New Year means the year that has been is coming to an end and new beginnings are about to emerge. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the year that has been, think about all the great things that have happened and we’ve achieved but also let go of the things that no longer serve us. We have a choice in every single moment to change, let go and grow. A New Year is a great metaphor for a fresh new start.
To begin again, we’ve put together a simple list of things that we can bring into 2020 in the hope it will give you the inspiration to make one for yourself or use this one! Remember, nothing changes unless you do, but the power is already within you.
1) A DAILY GRATITUDE PRACTICE
The importance of gratitude in our everyday lives is significant! Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. By simply starting the day with three things we are grateful for is a great place to start!
2) MEDITATE EVERYDAY
Having a meditation practice is extremely important, especially in our everyday busy lives (check out our blog post on meditation for more information). Start the New Year right with forming a meditation practice! Five or ten minutes in the mornings is all you need to create a big change and live a happier healthier life.
3) SPEAK KIND TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS
How you speak to yourself and others is vital. If we’re constantly speaking negatively to ourselves and others how can we expect to be happy and thrive? Fill your mind and lift other people up with positive thoughts and watch your world change!
4) SPEND MORE TIME OUTSIDE
We’re living in a society with more phone, TV and screen time than ever before! We work in offices then spend our breaks on our devices to then go home and watch TV. Taking some time to put down the phone, go outside and spend some nature will do amazing things to our energy, happiness, and overall mental health.
5) LET GO OF THINGS THAT NO LONGER SERVE YOU
This new year is the end of a decade! It’s time to let go of the things that no longer serve you to make room for the things that will grow you. That may be people, habits or relationships. Whatever it may be for you, know that you are not stuck. You have the power to let go.
6) SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU HAPPY
It’s often thought that you are the reflection of the five people closest to you. Think about those five people, are they happy, uplifting people? Do they make you want to be the best version of yourself? Or are you surrounded by negative people who make you stray away from your goals or what you want in life? You deserve to be around uplifting people who make you happy! Being around positive people makes a big difference to your mental health.
These are just a few things you can implement in 2020 to have a great year and decade. Out with the old in with the new!
