The history of Nurcha is interesting to say the least. We have come a long way from our early days…
Initially launched in 2004 as the Coastal Wellbeing Centre, we grew a loyal following that allowed us to open Cafe Nurcha in 2014. We ran both businesses side by side but 5 years on, we came to understand that Nurcha was where it was at!
2019 saw us merge both brands, and Cafe Nurcha has since evolved to become known as the key vegan lifestyle destination on the Sunshine Coast.
Our logo has been especially designed to reflect the history of Nurcha, our values and our hopes and dreams for the planet.
We support your decision to make positive product choices and are proud to provide our extensive range, both online and in person at one of our two locations.
From cruelty-free groceries, to eco-friendly cleaning products, gorgeous gifts and homewares, there’s definitely something for everyone.
Food is our specialty, and our 100% plant-based cafes showcase the colour, flavours, textures and beauty that a vegan diet can offer.
At Nurcha, we believe that eliminating animal products from your lifestyle is of huge significance in helping the planet.
If you’ve made the choice to become vegan, you’ve probably discovered by now that it’s not always easy or convenient to find everything you need.
“Cafe Nurcha began with our mother’s therapy business that was based in Bli Bli. We then moved our little business to a back alley store in Maroochydore. Many years of working hard, and following our gut and fast forward to today, we have a business and a team that we’re super proud of.”
“When our little 40 square meter store first open, we had a walk down an alley to find us, a couple of therapy rooms and a small retail store. It was very humble, and very small, but good fun!”
“We began to expand and acquired some of the surrounding spaces.
Our families were vegan, and I had some hospitality bac kground so we thought why not throw a cafe into the business and see what happens! I figured the only way I could do it is if it was plant-based, so we just went out and gave it a shot.
We decided that the community needed it, and they seemed to agree! It’s been an amazing journey to be a part of”.
We understand that in today’s society, it is hard to maintain an earth-friendly approach at all times. But we need change. We need to make a difference. How do we achieve this? We do so by TRYING.
We don’t need a handful of people doing sustainable living perfectly, we need MILLIONS of people doing it imperfectly.
