It’s the end of the week and there’s still a day of housework to slog through. Living a busy life can sometimes mean there is less time to focus on health and wellbeing, however this is a sure fire way to:
B. Get clean
C. Catch up on all those podcasts you’ve been meaning to get around to
D. Absorb magnesium
Yep, that’s right, I’m talking about a good old-fashioned magnesium bath. What’s that? You may ask. Don’t worry; it’s completely normal if you’ve never taken one before.
Magnesium is an essential nutrient.
Early signs of magnesium deficiency include:
- Muscle cramps and spasms
- Stress, nervousness and/or anxiety
- Fatigue and low energy
- Loss of appetite
- An irregular heartbeat
You can opt to take a pill form of magnesium, but I always find that it passes through my body without any impact (which I have just found out is due to a damaged gut – something a large portion of us have). Plus, there are days I fly out the front door without brushing my hair, let alone swallowing a pill.
Baths are found to be the best way to absorb magnesium as our skin acts as an amazing filter, and is our largest organ to boot.
For those of you who are fans of Epsom Salt baths I urge you to give Magnesium Flakes a try, too (Wellness Mama suggests using both at the same time). Though they are slightly different, the magnesium flakes absorb into the skin easier with faster and stronger results. Magnesium is vital to regulating over 300 enzymes and reactions in our bodies.
Interested? Here’s what you’ll need:
- A bath (or a bucket to soak your feet)
- Luvin’ Life Magnesium Flakes (1 cup in the bath, ½ a cup in the bucket)
- Optional: I like to add flowers, essential oils and sometimes even tea such as chamomile or green. Be creative, it’s your time to indulge.
I’m not a big bath person, I find a shower is much more efficient, allowing me to proceed with whatever else I have to do. To remedy this I download a good podcast, one that will run for the length of the bath – say 20-30 minutes. That way I can get two things done at once, and hopefully learn something too.
Some people read a book, listen to music or – shock horror! – simply sit and relax. So long as you’re in that tub for 20-30 minutes, it doesn’t matter what you do.
Two magnesium baths down and the difference is noticeable. My aches and pains from my week at work are long gone, and I feel energised and ready to tackle even the hardest of yard work.
If you want to give magnesium bath flakes a try, I urge you to check out Luvin’ Life’s great prices. Feel free to leave a comment on how you go, would love to hear from you!
